Canon EOS C300 Camcorder Firmware 1.1.8.1.00

With the CN7x17 KAS S/E1, CN-E18-80mm T4.4 L IS KAS, or CN20x50 IAS H/E1 attached, the following functions are available: 

- Metadata, such as the model name and focal distance of the lens attached, can be acquired and displayed on the camera.

- Peripheral illumination correction is supported.

- Aperture can be adjusted manually by operating the camera's Control Dial.

- Settings can be made so that the zoom can be operated using the joystick on the grip unit of the camera.

- The zoom/focus/iris can be operated using the separately-sold RC-V100 Remote Controller.

- The focus and iris can be operated via Wi-Fi Remote.

- The automatic aperture and Push Auto Iris functions can be used.

Other Changes:

- Support for peripheral illumination correction when the EF 24-105mm f/4L IS II USM is attached has been added.

Notes:

- This firmware version is only for EOS C300 cameras without the Dual Pixel CMOS AF Feature Upgrade. If the EOS C300 camera has had the Dual Pixel CMOS AF Feature Upgrade applied, please homepage.

- If your camera's firmware is already running the present version or newer, it is not necessary to update the firmware. Once the camera is updated to the latest firmware version, it cannot be restored to a previous version.

- All camera settings will be reset formatted when you perform the firmware update.

- It is not possible to revert the firmware back to a previous version after you have performed the firmware update.

- Please be absolutely sure NOT to operate the camera buttons or remove the camera’s power source during the firmware update. Doing so may cause the camera to malfunction.

Check the current firmware version:

- Connect the compact power adapter and DC cable to the camera, and insert the battery pack into the camera.

- Slide the POWER switch to CAMERA.

- Press the MENU, and open the [Firmware] submenu. The current camera firmware version will appear on the screen.

- Press the MENU, and slide the POWER switch to OFF.

- The firmware update takes approximately 6 minutes to complete. During the update, please do not turn off the camera or operate any of its controls. Doing so may cause the camera to malfunction.

Firmware Update Instructions:

- Insert the SD card into the camera’s SD card slot A.

- Slide the power switch to CAMERA.

- Press the MENU, and open the [Initialize Media] submenu. [ Other Functions] -> [Initialize Media]

- Select [ A] and then press the joystick.

- Select [Complete] and then press the joystick.

- Select [OK] and then press the joystick.

- If you are using the [Complete] initialization option, press the joystick twice to cancel the operation while it is in progress. You can use the SD card but all data will be erased.

- When the confirmation message appears, press the joystick.

- The SD card is initialized and all the data it contains is erased.

- Press the MENU, and slide the power switch to OFF, and then remove the SD card from the camera.

- Save and unzip the downloadable archive.

- Insert the initialized SD card into a card reader or the computer’s SD card slot.

- Copy the data, drag & drop the .FIM and safely remove the card.

- After inserting the charged battery pack into the camera, connect the camera to the power outlet using the compact power adapter.

- Insert the SD card prepared into the camera’s SD card slot A.

- Slide the POWER switch to CAMERA.

- Press the MENU, open the [Firmware] submenu, and then press the joystick. [ Other Functions] -> [Firmware]. The firmware update confirmation screen will be displayed.

- When you select [OK] and then press the joystick, the firmware update will start.

- After the update ends, the camera will restart automatically, and a firmware update completion screen will be displayed.

- When you press the joystick, all settings will be reset and the [Date/Time] screen will appear. Set the date/time.

- Check that the firmware version has changed to the desired one.

- Slide the POWER switch to OFF, and then remove the SD card.

Upgrading your camcorder to a different firmware version should improve the device’s overall performance and stability, resolve various issues, and add support for newly developed features or enhance existing ones.
