Atomos Ninja V Recorder Firmware 10.52

Monitor and record RAW over HDMI from the Panasonic Lumix S1H:

- 5.9K ProRes RAW recording in 12Bit RAW up to p30 and loop out in UHD or HD.
- 4.1K ProRes RAW recording in 12Bit RAW up to p60 and loop out in UHD, 4KDCI or HD.
- 3.5K (4:3) ProRes RAW recording in 12Bit RAW up to p30 and loop out in UHD or HD.
- Added the ability to loop out V-log when monitoring or recording RAW from the S1H.
- Playback recorded 5.9K, 4.1K, 3.5K (4:3) ProRes RAW video.

Monitoring of RAW input in:

- Native - Vlog for use with 3D LUTs for monitoring. When monitoring with 3D LUT please use the LUT provided by Panasonic LUMIX Global Customer Support
- Rec709 – to view RAW input in SDR up to 6.7 stops of dynamic range.
- HLG – to view RAW in HLG with up 10.5 stops of dynamic range.
- PQ – to view RAW in PQ/HDR10 with up to 10.5 stops of dynamic range, for scenes with extended spectral highlights.

Additional features:

- 4k ProRes or DNX Video recording in 10bit up to p60 from the Panasonic Lumix S1H.
- Added a warning to let you know when your camera battery is running low, when using camera controls with a supported Z Cam.
- Added the ability to trigger recordings both from the camera and the Ninja, when using the camera controls feature when using a supported Z Cam.

Firmware Update Tutorial:

- Download and unzip the file.
- Copy the file onto a recommended, formatted driver, using the docking station included with your recorder.
- Insert the drive into the Atomos recorder while it’s off.
- Power up the Atomos recorder.
- The screen will show flashing lines of color. This is normal - DO NOT power off!
- Updating will take a few minutes.
- Once completed, the Atomos recorder will power down.
- Power up the Atomos recorder again.
- Check Menu > Product Info > AtomOS Version. This should match the version you have just downloaded.
- Enjoy your updated Atomos recorder !

Firmware Recovery Tutorial:

- Power down the Atomos recorder (Hold power button for 4 seconds).
- Hold down the power button for 10 seconds approximately.
- You will see the “Firmware Update Failed” screen.
- Insert your HDD / SSD.
- The install process will begin and the screen will show flashing lines of color. This is normal - DO NOT power off !
- Once completed, the Atomos recorder will power down.
- Enjoy your updated Atomos recorder !

Applying a new firmware package on your Video Recorder adapter should improve overall performance and stability, fix various issues encountered with the device, or add support for newly developed features.

The Video Recorder adapter should be carefully upgraded by a power user (that is to say, someone who has the know-how to successfully complete the process), but it can also be performed by an average user at his or her own risk.

Either way, given the fact that each producer has their own method for installing a new firmware, and that every device has a particular way to enter the update mode, you must not consider upgrading the adapter's software until you have read and thoroughly understood the installation steps.

As a rule, said steps shouldn't pose too much of a challenge because manufacturers strive to make them as easy as possible. As with everything else, exceptions do occur, and users should be prepared for them.

Usually, you should transfer the compatible firmware to the Recorder through a USB cable or a memory card, and afterwards enter update mode from the unit's setup menu or through a specific power-on method.
